Robert Pike is a graduate of History and French from the University of Exeter.
Following a career in teaching, Robert wrote his first book, Defying Vichy, after first interviewing former Resistance members as a student. That book led to well-received appearances at The Gloucester History Festival and The Imperial War Museum. In 2021 He will be embarking on a research project on the social history of the rural Resistance in central and southern France.
His new book, Silent Village, is due for publication in early 2021. This book, about the tragedy at Oradour-sur-Glane, has already been called 'a remarkable social and cultural case-study' by authority in the field Rod Kedward.
Robert lives in Worcestershire with his wife and two children.
