Robert Pike's latest book, Silent Village, about the tragedy at Oradour-sur-Glane, is due for publication in April 2021.  He is a graduate of History and French from the University of Exeter.

 

He wrote his first book, Defying Vichy, after interviewing former members of the French Resistance. That book led to well-received appearances at The Gloucester History Festival and The Imperial War Museum.

 

Currently he is working towards a PhD on the social history of the rural Resistance in central and southern France at Cardiff University.

Robert lives in Worcestershire with his wife and two children.
